For those of you who don’t already know, here’s the news:
I’m now a Certified Martial Arts Instructor! I received my Assistant Instructor Certification from Sifu Jack Shamburger, Head Instructor at the Chinese Hawaiian Kenpo Academy, and I have been teaching the Junior Samurai (7-12 year olds) at the school three days a week, as well assisting Sifu Jack in the adult Kenpo classes.
I’ve also begun teaching private students. I offer either general fitness training or straight-up Kenpo Karate lessons, or a blend of the two. I teach at my place, do house calls, go to gyms — I teach one-on-one, duos, or create-your-own-groups.
My new project, which I’m very excited about, is THE WOMEN’S MARTIAL ARTS WORKOUT. Since I’ve been involved with Martial Arts, I’ve met a lot of women who are interested in Martial Arts but haven’t pursued it. Some feel they aren’t in good enough shape, or that it’s too much of a “guy” thing. Many simply don’t have the time to devote to a Martial Arts program.
So I designed this class just for them. THE WOMEN’S MARTIAL ARTS WORKOUT is a unique blend of
- military-style conditioning exercises to increase endurance and tone muscle
- martial arts precision drills to enhance discipline and coordination, and
- a focus on core strengthening and flexibility
After years of study in dance, yoga and Pilates, as well as my background in bodywork and the health sciences, I’m excited to be able to bring all these influences together, to help women discover their strength and confidence and transcend their own perceived limitations.
The class is great for women of all fitness levels, including beginners, and it’s an excellent way for new moms to get back in shape and start to put some of the focus back on themselves!
I would love it if you would pass the info along to friends or women’s groups that you think might be interested!
